Where Keel comes from

Operational experience changes how the numbers look.

I’m a QuickBooks Certified Bookkeeper, a QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor, and an accounting student. The Certified Bookkeeper program required more class time, deeper coursework, and a more rigorous exam than the ProAdvisor certification.

My work experience includes automotive repair, contracting, and food service. I’ve seen transactions begin as a part ordered for a repair, materials bought for a job, a vendor delivery, a card deposit, a tool purchase, or an invoice waiting to be paid.

Those are Keel’s strongest niches, but they are not a fence. I work with small businesses outside those industries when the service and QuickBooks Online setup are a good fit.

Keel focuses on monthly bookkeeping, cleanup work, and optional receivables and payables support. The goal is simple: keep the books current, organized, and useful without burying the owner in accounting language.

Why the name Keel?

The keel is the backbone of a ship. It gives the vessel structure and keeps it moving in the right direction. That is the role good bookkeeping should play inside a business.
